Because of your generosity, clean water is flowing again at Nikawewa Gamini Vidyalaya! Every donation helped make this possible.
Located in Jayanthipura, Thamankaduwa Division of the Polonnaruwa District, this rural school serves around 100 students from Grades 1 to 5.
For some time, the school's water filter had been out of service. In a region increasingly affected by kidney-related diseases, this posed a serious health risk to students.
But now, thanks to your support, the filter has been repaired and the children once again have access to safe, clean drinking water.
This achievement is a direct result of the generosity and commitment of our donors and the wonderful on-site volunteer team Hard Truth Society led by Harshana Lakmal. The impact is already being felt:
Improved Health – Reduced waterborne illnesses among students.
Better Attendance – Children can spend more time learning and less time collecting water.
Empowered Community – A sustainable water system now benefits not just the school, but the surrounding village as well.
