Renovate playground for Nagamagal Tamil Vidyalaya

Every child deserves a childhood. We believe It defines their perspective of life !

Nagamagal Tamil Vidyalaya is situated in the hill top of Madadumbara in Central province. Majority of the children who attend this school is from low income families in the estate sector. Their parents are illerate and as a result the financial position of families halt 50% of these children drop out of school.

The children who are educated in this school come from line houses in the estate sector. Mostly multiple families live in these houses with one wall separating each room. There are no play areas as usually they border the tea plantations. The children get to school to try physically activities and get some consolation for their hard life at home.

We got this request from the principal to build a new playground for these students with a estimate Rs.150,000. However after carefully analysis, our volunteer was able to get the task done for 1/3rd of the original estimate (Rs. 50,500) by finding a suitable party to renovating the existing playground equipment to the expected standards.

These children has never had the opportunity to play with these equipment before. You would see how happy they are to get hold of them and race other to get their chance to use the slide. Also we noticed that not only small children but “much younger children” was also playing.. Why? Coz they never had the opportunity growing up.

The full cost of this was funded with the remainder of funds we secured by our Generous monthly members for the month of December 2020. Thank you for always making thing like this possible for children of far away areas with your continued donations. A small donation can go a long way!
