📚✨Bringing Learning Closer to Every Child: Reaching Labutuwa✨📚

In some parts of Sri Lanka, access to even the most basic school supplies can make the difference between staying behind and moving forward. It is in these quiet, often overlooked corners that the impact of small acts of kindness is felt the most.

We are grateful to share the completion of two more Back-to-School projects for 2026, reaching the deeply rural community of Labutuwa, located within the Aranayaka Divisional Secretariat in the Kegalle District.

At Minimuthu Primary School, we supported 8 remarkable students who continue to excel in both academics and the arts, despite facing significant economic hardship. Their determination reflects a quiet resilience — a commitment to learning that refuses to be limited by circumstance.

At Labutuwa Primary School, 23 students from low-income families received essential school supplies to begin their academic year with confidence. The school itself has consistently demonstrated strong academic outcomes, with Grade Five Scholarship results surpassing the 100-mark benchmark year after year — a testament to both the students’ dedication and the teachers who guide them.

These initiatives were made possible through the generous sponsorship of Gashini, whose support is helping create meaningful access to education where it is needed most. We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to our onsite volunteer team, Hard Truths Society, led by Harshana Lakmal Samaraweera, whose hands-on involvement and genuine commitment brought these projects to life.

Projects like these remind us that impact does not always come from grand gestures — but from consistent, thoughtful action. A single book can spark curiosity. A simple act of support can build confidence. And together, these moments shape futures.
